One of our overseas client came up with a requirement of printing upto Three Colors on an Air conditioner panel. The challenge was that the panels were quite long i.e both window and split a/c's and the Three color printing required could be at a particular place or three different locations on the panel.It could also be two colors in one place and one color in other location. Also the printing was not necesaarily in a single x axis. It could be on y axis too.With this requirement in mind, our engineers brainstormed and came up with a solution of developing a CNC type product movement system . We utilsed three 140 closed cup dia machine heads for three colors thereby having all the advantages of a sealed cup system like les ink and solvent usage, stable viscocity etc. The CNC movement was given using a linear guide in both x and y axis. We made use of the Japanese PLC Keyence with MMI. At the end it was a truly marvelous system to watch .There was a facility to store up to 99 different programs. Ie the settings of different printing on different panels could be stored and recalled saving the time to set each panel while printing. The pressure settings, trouble shooting can be handled through the PLC thus making it very user friendly. The customer could himself set the x and y coordinate of a particular product and decide the distance that a particular air-condition panel has to travel in x and y axis of the panel. We made possible and easy what seemed quite difficult and tedious using standard screen printing or pad printing methods.
